The Casanovas @ Stay Gold, Melbourne 20-Dec-2020
Melbourne's own rock'n'rollers The Casanovas played Stay Gold in Melbourne's inner-city suburb Brunswick on Sunday 20 December 2020. Billed as an intimate Sunday session, the event delivered the promised festive rock'n'roll vibes to help put the city's pandemic lockdown behind us. Performing a slew of classic tracks harking all the way back to 2000, they also played a healthy portion of brand new material from their fourth studio album Reptilian Overlord released a few months ago. Produced by legendary Aussie sound man Mark Opitz (The Angels, Australian Crawl, Cold Chisel, Rose Tattoo, INXS, and Divinyls), the new tracks' sonics transferred flawlessly from their green vinyl into the loud live setting, and had the crowd singing and grooving along with them. The Casanovas are Tommy Boyce on guitar and vocals, Damo Campbell on bass and vocals, and Brett "Wolfie" Wolfenden on drums and backing vocals.
