The Angels @ Mornington Racecourse, Melbourne 18-Jan-2020
Legendary Australian rock band The Angels performed in front of a 6,000-strong sold-out crowd at Mornington Racecourse in Victoria on Saturday 18 January 2020 as part of the Red Hot Summer Tour concert. After forming in Adelaide during 1974, lead guitarist Rick Brewster and his brother John Brewster on rhythm guitar remain the longest standing members of The Angels, and the core songwriters and producers for the band. John's son Sam Brewster plays bass, and Nick Norton is the drummer. Following the passing of long-time front man Doc Neeson, Dave Gleeson of The Screaming Jets joined The Angels as their lead singer mid-2011, and immediately began recording a new album with them and touring. The Angels were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in October 1998. Local volunteer firefighters collected donations for their CFA at the end of their set, with proceeds to go towards replacing some of the trucks they lost in recent bushfires.
