Tame Impala @ Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne 22-Oct-2022
Multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker brought his psychedelic Tame Impala music project to Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on Saturday 22 October 2022, as part of the Slow Rush Tour of Australia & New Zealand. Tame Impala’s fourth studio album The Slow Rush was released in February 2020 to high acclaim, winning in five categories at the 2020 ARIA Music Awards and receiving a nomination for Best Alternative Music Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Parker originally conceived Tame Impala in Perth during 2007 and has gone from strength to strength, being well received by critics and well supported by fans. While Kevin Parker performs all vocals and instruments plus production on the studio recordings, he is joined live by a touring band comprising Dominic Simper (guitar, synthesiser), Jay Watson (synthesiser, vocals, guitar), Cam Avery (bass guitar, vocals), Julien Barbagallo (drums, vocals), and Rafael Lazzaro-Colon (percussion.) Tame Impala currently has almost 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify, while their song The Less I Know The Better has been streamed over a billion times on the platform.
