Sammy Hagar (Van Halen, Montrose) released his autobiography Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock and made an in-store appearance at Borders Columbus Circle in New York City on 16 March 2011. Here he discussed the book with Rolling Stone writer and multiple New York Times Bestselling author Neil Strauss, who was celebrating the release of his book Everyone Loves You When You're Dead: Journeys into Fame and Madness. Strauss is well known for his books The Dirt with Motley Crue, The Long Hard Road Out of Hell with Marilyn Manson, Don't Try This At Home with Dave Navarro, How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale with Jenna Jameson, and his own The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists.
