Pseudo Echo @ The Palms at Crown, Melbourne 12-Mar-2021
Electro synth-pop rockers Pseudo Echo performed their first post-COVID concert at The Palms at Crown casino in hometown Melbourne on Friday 12 March 2021. Led by founding frontman Brian Canham on vocals and guitar, the band also includes bass keytarist James Mudd, synth keytarist Matty Ray, and drummer Cameron Smith. Pseudo Echo enjoyed their most commercial success in the 1980s, as their first three albums reached Top 20 and they won Most Popular Australian Group at the Countdown Music Awards in '86 (Brian Canham also won Most Popular Male Performer that year.) The evening's sold-out show featured all their new wave hits like Listening, A Beat for You, and their #1 hit cover of Funky Town, plus a selection of material from their eight studio albums - the most recent titled After Party, which was their second album released during the pandemic lockdowns of 2020. Being their first show in a year, the event was a party-like celebration that had fans singing and dancing along.
