American rock band Papa Roach played Melbourne's 170 Russell on Sunday 21 January 2018, on their first-ever headline tour of Australia - supporting their critically-acclaimed ninth studio album Crooked Teeth that was released last May and had first single HELP top the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart. The band is fronted by Jacoby Shaddix on lead vocals, with Jerry Horton on lead guitar, Tobin Esperance on bass, Tony Palermo on drums, and touring rhythm guitarist Anthony Esperance. Since forming during 1993 in Vacaville, California, Papa Roach has now sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and had twenty Top 10 hits in their home country. The band previously performed in Australia during 2002 as support to Red Hot Chili Peppers, and returned again for Soundwave festival in 2015.
