Manitoba @ The Bowery Electric, NYC 26-Jan-2012
Manitoba played their first-ever New York City hometown show on 26 January 2012 at The Bowery Electric in front of a sold-out crowd. The band full of seasoned musicians and producers were led by boisterous front-man Handsome Dick Manitoba of The Dictators fame. On guitar was Ross "The Boss" Friedman, who was a founding member of both The Dictators and Manowar. Also on guitar was Daniel Rey, a former member of Manitoba's Wild Kingdom, but most-known for his songwriting and production work with the Ramones. On drums was JP Thunderbolt Patterson, another former member of The Dictators and Manitoba's Wild Kingdom. Rounding out the band was Dean Rispler on bass, a former member of Murphy's Law who is also a music producer. Jesse Malin (owner of The Bowery Electric, solo artist and D Generation front-man) joined the band on stage to sing the night's last two songs, as he celebrated his 44th birthday. Handsome Dick Manitoba is also one of the characters in my book Sex Tips From Rock Stars.
