Labretta Suede & Johnny Moondog @ The Tote, Melbourne 15-Sep-2017
Kiwi rock'n'rollers Labretta Suede & Johnny Moondog played The Tote hotel in Collingwood on Friday 15 September 2017. Formed during 2005 in Auckland, New Zealand, the band spent six years honing their craft in New York City, as they revive the true essence of roots-based rock 'n' roll, punk and rockabilly blues. The duo is led by the irreverent bad girl tease Labretta Suede with her deep, rich vocals, who delivered a gritty, sexual performance. Her partner-in-crime, Johnny Moondog, sneered and played his guitar with wild jungle groovin' tones, crazed reverb, and mind-bending psychedelic distortion. The crowd of Melbourne rockers enjoyed their reckless set full of badass, '50s rockin' an-a-reelin' fun, straight from the shores of Aotearoa.
