'Kid' James @ Soda Rock Diner, Melbourne 5-Feb-2021

'Kid' James (James Schembri) played a show at Soda Rock Diner on Melbourne's Chapel Street on Friday 5 February 2021 - the day after his eighteenth birthday. As the new kid on the block in the Melbourne rockabilly scene, the talented singer/songwriter/guitarist performs authentic rockabilly music, just like it was performed by teenagers in the '50s. Joined by Robin Sharrock on double-bass, Kid performed three sets of originals and covers that had the juke-joint boppin' and hoppin'. The iconic Soda Rock Diner has been serving authentic American '50s diner food since 1994, with their rollerskating wait-staff, Elvis pinball machine, a jukebox at every booth, and artists on their new stage to serve and entertain a whole new generation.
