Kevin Bloody Wilson @ Commercial Hotel, Melbourne 27-Mar-2021
Outback outlaw comedy legend Kevin Bloody Wilson played the Commercial Hotel in the Melbourne suburb of South Morang on Saturday 27 March 2021 as part of The F.U.P.C. Tour. After releasing a cassette of his songs called Your Average Australian Yobbo in Perth during 1984, he sold 22,000 of them at gigs and via mail order before it sold many thousands more when released on vinyl. Then after releasing his Kev's Back album, he won the 1987 ARIA Music Award for Best Comedy Release, and was also nominated that year for the Highest Selling Album award that was won by John Farnham's Whispering Jack. He was the first Australian performing artist to have a website, which a friend set up for him in 1993, and has been a major source of album and product sales. The 74-year old Aussie musical comedian's record sales are now nudging the four million mark, achieved without traditional media support. Many believe that nobody tells Australian stories better than Kevin Bloody Wilson, and even Billy Connolly has called him, "The world’s funniest Australian!" Kev performed two sets of his classic comical songs on this night for a room full of his rabid fans laughing like hyenas, thankful that he has not bowed to the pressures of political correctness. Kevin Bloody Wilson is Australia's original international comedy music legend - he's a national institution. And if you don't agree: DILLIGAF!
