Jet @ The Gasometer Hotel, Melbourne 31-Jan-2017
For their first live appearance in over six years, the re-formed Jet played a special warm-up show at The Gasometer Hotel on Collingwood’s Smith Street. This Melbourne homecoming on Tuesday 31 January 2017 was a one-off return to their pub rock roots in their only Victorian headline show, just two days before joining Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for his first AAMI Stadium show. In what promises to be one of the gigs of the year, just 350 of their family, friends and fans got the opportunity to see one of Australia’s most successful bands of all time perform in intimate surroundings – they have sold more than 6.5 million albums since forming in 2001. Consisting of Nic Cester on vocals and rhythm guitar, his brother Chris Cester on drums, Cam Muncey on lead guitar and Mark Wilson on bass, the Australian rock band played a 23-song set of hits and much-loved tracks from all three of their studio albums: Shaka Rock, Shine On and their chart-topping classic debut Get Born. The crowd was further entertained by special guest DJ Davey Lane of You Am I.
