From The Jam @ The Croxton, Melbourne 21-Sep-2019
English mod revival/punk rock band The Jam enjoyed 18 consecutive Top 40 singles in their homeland, from their debut in 1977 through to their break-up in December 1982, including four number ones. Led by Paul Weller as their guitarist and principal singer-songwriter, the band also included bassist Bruce Foxton, whose prominent bass lines and backing vocals were features of so many hits, along with occasional lead vocals on songs such as News of the World and David Watts. 64-year-old Foxton continues to play the band's much-loved songs in From The Jam, which includes Russell Hastings on guitar and vocals, and Mike Randon on drums. As part of the Greatest Hits Tour of Australia, From The Jam performed at The Croxton in Melbourne on Sunday 21 September 2019. As a genuine and passionate fan of The Jam, Russell Hastings has been working with Bruce Foxton since 2007 and is the only frontman to work with both Rick Buckler and Bruce Foxton. It's easy to see why he has earned respect from fans across the world as an entertaining frontman and is indeed the perfect choice to perform these songs. Bruce Foxton was voted by readers of NME as the 7th Most Influential Bass Player and his music career now spans more than 40 years.
