Bon Scott sculpture unveiling @ ACDC Lane, Melbourne 6-Mar-2018
A permanent art installation of legendary singer Bon Scott was unveiling during a media launch in Melbourne's AC/DC Lane on Wednesday 6 March 2018, which was supported by the Victorian Government’s Rockin' the Laneways initiative. After some words from one of Cherry bar's owners and band bookers, James Young, it was over to the street artist Mike Makatron and Bon Scott's son, Dave Stevens, to unveil the new artwork of the late AC/DC front-man. The bas-relief sculpture is three metres high by two metres wide, and protrudes 15cm from the brickwork, giving Bon a 3D element. Also attending the unveiling was Bon's former soul mate Mary Renshaw, who has authored a book about his early life and times. Bon Scott passed away 38 years ago, but his legacy continues to ride on with this tribute piece.
